Laval, Quebec (December 09, 2013) – Distinctive Appliances (“Distinctive”) announces a change in our sales, marketing and service portfolio, as Viking Range, LLC plans a departure to a factory direct model of distribution. Distinctive will continue to promote and sell it’s healthy portfolio of premier luxury brands Alfresco, Ariston, Bertazzoni, Blomberg, Faber, Falmec, Fhiaba, Fulgor Milano, Huebsch, Scholtes, U-Line, and Zephyr.

“Distribution being the business model that it is, we are grateful to have had the opportunity to build the Viking brand, and now Brigade brand, in Canada over the course of the past twenty years. We wish them best of luck in their future reorganization of their sales and distribution channels,” said Anthony Amiel, Vice-President of Distinctive Appliances.

“This is not the first time our company has re-organized in the face of a distribution change, but at every occurrence has come out stronger and more focused than ever. Our diverse product offering provides a very competitive value proposition to our retail dealer network and supports our focus on the robust builder community.”

Distinctive will continue to operate out of its three locations in Laval, Montreal, and Toronto and expects to have many of the same Distinctive people working to add value to our customers’ selling efforts.

Well , first a happy new year to all. I am curious , I hear a lot of talk , bragging and promises for new things in the industry. All we see here is how distribution is changing , who is taking territories from others . Wow , how is that going to stir up sales. How about new products ,new innovation , new technology ? Anyone can redirect distribution . The appliance industry and especially the high end brags about what they want to do and it used to be that once it was the smaller guys who were the best innovators. Wolf , Boach and others are eating your lunches while the industry is promised new things from those that were. Come on , start kicking some butt and showing what it is you say you can do. The industry needs innovation from the smaller guys or you will all disappear. I hope they have the heart and the drive to get it moving. I for one enjoyed the industry in the 90′s ? It appears some are afraid to take the chances that once were good for the industry and the public.Come on !
