Key Boston, aka, The Boston Group, now known as New England Appliance & Electronics Group (NEAEG), has installed 7200 solar panels on its 6 acre Franklin, MA warehouse roof, under a PPA (Power Purchasing Agreement) with Soltas Energy.
Steve Moran, owner of Dracut Appliance, and president of the NEAEG, said that the project supports our “Buy Local” ethic because of the Lawrence MA inverters, and Hudson MA racking system, and as well, this writer assumes the Franklin, MA sunlight.
“Buy local”, is a tough nut to a crack for a New England organization with >$200 million in revenues in the major appliance industry……since New England makes no appliances that we are aware of. The closest Major major appliance production? (Maybe Ohio). But we digress.
This is a great move for NEAEG. It just makes sense. They could have owned the panels instead of working under a PPA, but many organizations decide that generating power is not their business, so focus on the business, and let others focus on the power. Great project. Photos coming shortly.
