My understanding is that GE is only discontinuing GE Profile laundry and focusing the Profile line on Kitchen appliances. There is a brand new GE Profile Bottom Freezer (with a new handle design that is the same as the standard GE french door but has chrome end caps) so this seems to support that theory. The rest of the GE and GE profile lineup supposedly will transition over the next year to match these handles.
This is just what I have heard. I don’t have definitive proof of this. Hope it helps!
