We Call it Retroactive Robbery
Within the last 3 weeks, GE and Whirlpool have removed the Broiler Pan from the majority of their range products. They will ship the pans to customers who request one, Whirlpool for free, GE at a discount.
Why you ask? Why do these guys do anything.....follow the money.
They think that a whole bunch of folks will never get around to requesting the pans, and GE and Whirlpool will deposit your procrastination, your inertia, and your apathy straight into their bank accounts.
Is there anything more hideous than the demonic giggles of an accountant with an original idea. Thankfully, a rare event.
You have been robbed even before you thought about buying that freak'in appliance. Under bright fluorescent lights, in mid-day and witnessed by hundreds of people in matching factory jump suits; you have been robbed. Are there no laws in Mexico? Was it just a few months ago that Whirlpool stopped shipping hoses with their clothes washers? How long until these guys start shipping empty boxes to see how many bother to follow up. Some accountant even now, is adding up their customers who are blind, senile, 3rd world refugees, multiple amputees, terrorists & escaped convicts, and the very-soon-to-be-deceased; a good 4% who aren't going to call back asking where their appliance is. Money in the bank.
UPDATE: January 29: We received a report from a distributor that Frigidaire stopped shipping broiler pans 2 years and no one complained
