Vent-a-Hood Pulls Out. U-Line Pull Out Confirmed. DCS/F&P Confirm 2B Showing. Jennair Showing & Whirlpool Off Site
Vent-a-Hood announced today that it is pulling out of the 2010 Chicago KBIS.
Vent-a-Hood Press Release:
After careful deliberation, we have made the decision to withdraw from the Kitchen/Bath Industry Show (KBIS) in Chicago. As this was not an easy decision, please find listed below the key points that affected our decision:
- Once again, major brand manufacturers have chosen not to participate.
- KBIS has substantially reduced the physical presence of the show. Due to the lack of participants the Vent-A-Hood display area has been moved to the very back of the small hall.
- We are living through an unprecedented period of economic adjustment and we must be good stewards of our resources. We believe these dollars can be redistributed in ways that will better serve Vent-A Hood and our distributors.
On behalf of Vent-A-Hood, I want to apologize for this late notice of our decision. Personally, we are very disappointed as this was going to be the perfect venue to introduce our new products.
U-Line Pull Out
The pull out of U-Line was first reported by Bermuda Bob on this site on the Forums page, but we weren't able to confirm it until today. It is confirmed.
DCS / F&P Attending
It was confirmed to us today (2/16) that both DCS and F&P will be attending the 2010 Chicago KBIS. It was mentioned on the Forum pages that DCS would not be showing as they were not specifically listed. This is incorrect. DCS will be showing in Chicago.
Whirlpool
Whirlpool confirmed that Jennair will be showing at KBIS, but the rest of Whirlpool will also be seen in Chicago outside of the KBIS show.
ApplianceAdvisor.com waits, maybe forever, for his invitation.

A Slap in the Face ...
One of the emasculating things that can be done to someone, as proven by it's effective use in the movies, is to slap someone in the face ...
Don't you think Whirlpool's move to show elsewhere in Chicago is just that ???
I do, and find it a quite effective message being sent ... that K-Biz has lost contact with it's major supporters and caused itself to be left outside of reality in support of some of the points I have been making recently !!!
Our Industry needs a single strong voice of reason whereby we can economically and succinctly show our wares (and possibly those of associated product lines) without the encumbrances of people who are more interested in their show than us !!!
