While we consider the prospect of the US Economy devolving into subsistence farming, logging, barter, and prison management, let us now consider the prospects for our beloved industry.

Whilst you consider this question, we once more refer you to our prescient October 2007 prediction, which, though dead on, had a tone which was far too optimistic.
Circumstantial Evidence
Rumor has it that stainless steel purchases by U.S. luxury appliance manufacturers have dried up over the last 3 months.
We would be interested in seeing some comment to this rumor.
