Samsung Sticks on Labels Better Than All Others

Appliance News reports that Samsung has been recognized for "Excellence in Product Labeling" by Energy Star.  Appliance News says "The award recognizes important contributions to raising Energy Star visibility among consumers through consistant, high profile placement of the Energy Star logo on select, energy-efficient products."
Really folks we could not make this up.  We have wondered whether Energy Star had anything better to do than promulgate convuluted and self-defeating regulation.  Now our question is answered with this, our industry's short-bus award.
Coincidentally Samsung was also recognized for their Energy Star labeling last fall when Consumer Reports suggested that Samsung's refrigerators actually used 65% more energy than reported on their DOE yellow card.  Samsung, we believe, was testing its products per DOE spec by disengaging the ice maker.  Do you see why this program drives us so crazy?

Stand Up Comedy.

Someone has got to be pulling our collective legs. I am speechless over this one. Over and out. Boing !!!!

It just goes to show you ...

... that ... it's NOT what it is ... it's what you call it !!!

Question ?

Do they lick the labels on the product to get them to stick ? Maybe that is the key. Wonder. I cannot believe how dumb some of these agencies get over time. Seems like in some quarters we have lost touch with reality . You think ? Well it is one award an engineer can award to a fellow engineer without trying too hard. It would be commendable if that award statement and the process had made some sense.
