Maytag Is On Our Radar Range

If half of what crosses our desk is true this last month, then there are some strange goings on in Newton (or is it Chicago now?)
Completely unconfirmed, but what we have so far heard is a little bit of everything from executive departures, to wage and hiring freezes of reps, voluntary retirement programs of reps and a resulting exodus, to Maytag shopping itself out to Samsung and Electrolux (there are those bloody Swedes again). From so many sources, it is difficult to dismiss. Something must be amiss. Maytag is getting killed by steel prices and their Q3 sales were down 3% from this time last year while profits dropped an underwear-binding 80%.
