LAYOFFS: Sub-Zero/Wolf Again?

The Capital Times reports that Sub-Zero/Wolf is laying off up to 350 positions on or after May 1.  This layoff follows 79 layoffs in January
Back in May 2008, Sub-Zero promised to layoff 235 positions, but only cut 43 salaried positions.
It's not that easy to tell if this is a new layoff or the re-activation of an old layoff.  SZ/Wolf has gone a long way in the last 12 months to communicate to its workforce the precarious nature of their continued employment.  We hope they have tucked away a nest egg.

The best reporting on this will come when Madisonians start commenting on the Capital Times website.  Stay tuned.

Sub Zero layoffs

Well, as we all know, the high end appliances business is way down and so it shouldn't come as a surprise that even the top brands are hurting.  Don't look for any improvement any time during 2009!

Genius

Exhalted one. Would you have them continue to build product with no orders ? I guess that would be supply side economics. That will work !!!!
