Just so Tragic.

Let us all hope that some of the incentives and the normal business cycle will soon turn around. We have so many good people in our country without jobs.Let us hope for the best soon.We need to encourage everyone to buy American at all costs. The exporting of decent jobs is hurting many decent people in our country.

Buy American?

I agree that we need to buy American, but what does buy American mean?  BSH, a German company, is bragging that by the end of the year, they will have a higher percentage of US production than any other company in the appliance industry.  Whirlpool and GE just keep moving production to Mexico and Asia.  Do we need to support the American brands or support the American working for a foreign brand?

Free Market ????

Well that is a difficult question. I think it starts in the board room ,travels through the investors on Wall Street and finally rests somewhat on protectionist policies we should have. If China is paying someone the equivilant of a dollar a day ,how can we compete ? Distributors decided some time ago to buy grills I produced from China for the sake of competing. My response has always been we can't compete cost wise with China on many products. This is going to be a real American problem sometime soon on a bigger scale. When we compete it is not apples to apples. The playing field needs leveling. We need to forsake some profit for the country as a whole. A nice tax on durable goods imported will be a start.I have seen so many people put on their resume how they saved $20 million annually. Know how they did that ? They just up and moved to China. How much skill does that take ?We all need a new sense of responsibility for this country. For our good people , for our good name. Right now , we are only good when it comes to fighting other folks battles.
