HomeTech in Cologne Germany

HomeTech seemed to be a disappointment to many in Cologne. No major European producer showed; no Whirlpool, Merloni, or BSH. Much of the show area was walled off and vacant. The largest brand on display was Haier, and in fact HomeTech had over 200 Chinese companies with products ranging from full size side by side refrigerators, to Euro-hoods, to induction cooktops, to several thousand small appliance iterations. The end may be near for HomeTech, but what of the rest of the established appliance industry? The Chinese pricing is quite persuasive.
