GE Sells Warranty Business

iStockanalyst.com reported today that GE Consumer and Industrial sold its Warranty Management Group to Assurant Inc. for $140 million (GE paid Assurant $115 million back to cover obligations). Assurant has worked in partnership with GE since 2003 providing extended warranties to GE customers. With the purchase, Assurant will take over full responsibility for the extended warranty business.
GE Factory Service will continue providing in home service.
