Who made and marketed the first french door refridgerator? And when? I was under the impression french doors came out in the 90's. This clip of the Galloping Gourmet with Graham Kerr dates back to late 60's/ early 70' features what appears to be one.

French Door refer
The first one that I know of was 1963. It was a FPI-16BC-63. It was a GM made Frigidaire.
When I searched that
When I searched that GM Frigidaire model, it's a single fridge door, I meant the double fridge door plus freezer door/drawer like the one in the video.
french door refrig
that refrig is aa Whirlpool model discontinued after a couple of years because of bad door gasketdesign I believe in late 70s.
Double doored is better!
The door of a refrigerator really matters in its performance. A double doored is better than a single doored for it has more cooling efficiency. Nowdays, all of the manufacturers as whirlpool refrigerators are focusing on these sorts! I think this fact would extinct the present large doored refrigerators someday!
