Electrolux to Supply Bosch EXCLUSIVE

Sources tell us that Electrolux's Springfield, TN production facility will soon start manufacturing 30" ranges under the Bosch brand. Electrolux will adapt an existing Electrolux line for a new lower tier Bosch range. Our sources did not expect the new arrangement to effect the production of range lines currently assembled at Bosch's New Bern, NC production facility.
This does remind us of our predictions in June 2008 for June 2009:
"Luxury brands launch down market "aspirational" and "builder" product lines to leverage brand equity and protect annual revenues."

Boo to Bosch
I fail to see the real point to this. We have recently seen these ranges and thought they looked a little too similar to a frigidaire offering with slightly nicer grates. Now this confirms it. We have always treated the Bosch as an upgrade over other brands. It has a nicer look, shallow depth and decent build quality. I don't see what they think they will accomplish by slapping a badge on a down market product.
BSH - what's next Herr Doctor?
Heard about this a coupe of months ago, and there is speculation about what happens to BSH's range plant in New Bern, NC. With this news, and the news that BSH is withdrawing from Brazil (http://www.reuters.com/article/mergersNews/idUSN0149869220090701), could this mean that BSH is preparing to exit NA next???
