Ducane Assets Taken by Webber

Weber was the winning bidder in bankruptcy court (see Jan 2004) for Ducane Gas Grills and its assets. Webber will be interviewing
Ducane employees next week (including CEO John Ducate Jr. and CFO Ira Zolin) to determine which employees they will retain. We wish the Ducane people well, but as Webber is already a BBQ manufacturer, there will be some pain.
March 16 UPDATE: Most employees have been retained, though the sales force has been released. Production is being increased. CEO John Ducate has left the company and has been re-hired as a consultant to Jim Stevens, CEO of Webber.
