Does GE Have a Sense of Humor?

The New York Times reports that NBC is considering a new comedy series by Saturday Night Live's Tina Fey, and Lorne Michaels.  The show depicts the stage and backstage of a "Carol Burnett"- type show, and includes a GE appliance executive, played by Alec Baldwin, who applies his microwave marketing mindset in his role as head of NBC's East Coast programming.
The character will be creatively obtuse, heavy handed, one-dimensional, and incapable of processing new information, and for this reason, far too human and sympathetic to realistically represent the appliance industry's executives that we all know and love.
