- Michael Maguire, late of TurboChef, Kuppersbusch, Hadco, and Gaggenau, departs TurboChef as Director of Builder Sales for Viking where he will be Service Training Manager. Boston, Florida, Atlanta, Atlanta, and now Mississippi. Huntington Beach and Pasadena are said to be anxiously awaiting Mr. Maguire's next career move.
- Doug Kelly parted ways amicably with HADCO with the end of his 2 year contract. Prior to joining HADCO, Mr. Kelly was a Director at PC Richards.
- Whirlpool prepares to exit direct management of its A/C and Dehumidifier business by selling off all it remaining inventories. Effective January 1, 2008, Whirlpool will license the Whirlpool branded business to Chinese maker Kelon. This is a structure similar to Maytag's licensing of the Magic Chef brand for small appliances to Daewoo, the Amana brand for smallish appliances to Haier, and Whirlpool's license of Whirlpool branded freezers to WC Wood (see November 2005)
"Kelon will be responsible for manufacturing, warehousing, deployment, distribution, sales, marketing, merchandising, order taking and trade show events. Whirlpool will have the responsibility for marketing consulting, trade mark registration and maintaining the licensee policy (and) compliance" - Sub-Zero / Wolf Price Increase report in NYC market of 2 - 3%
