Death by a Thousand Cuts

One more Amana appendage has been chain-sawed and sold off.
So to summarize:

• Amana built-in refrigeration foisted upon an unsuspecting Viking 2000
• Amana Everything sold to Maytag 2001 (was that a foisting too?)
• Amana brandname sold (or rented) to Haier for compact appliances and window A/C 2003 or 2004
• UPDATE:  September 27:  The Amana brandname is licensed to Goodman for central AC units

And now ...........on September 8, 2006 

• Amana Commercial Microwaves has been sold to AGA for $49 million in cash.

That's right, Amana is the appliance equivalent of a wriggling bloody torso.
