CORRECTION: LAYOFFS: Air King to Close Plant

Our original story:  Sources tell us that Air King is closing its factory in Brampton, Ontario which produces bathroom fans and rangehoods and shifting production to Air King's Pennsylvania factory.

Air King products are manufactured at 4 facilities in North America as well as facilities in Europe & Asia. Air King routinely reviews market needs, manufacturing capabilities, and cost to market to determine the manufacturing location that results in the best quality and value for Air King customers. In August Air King changed the manufacturing location of painted products made in its facility in Brampton, Ontario, to its facility in West Chester, PA, which makes similar products. The facility in West Chester has a highly efficient, low emissions, powder coat, paint line that is better for the environment and results in a higher quality finish. Air King believes the benefits of this change will result in better value for its customers. Air King will continue to routinely evaluate its capabilities against market needs and may make similar decisions in the future to benefit its customers. Air King Limited is a Canadian company that remains fully committed to the Canadian Market. The Brampton location also houses distribution, warehousing, sales, and product design functions and is a pivotal part of our plans going forward.
