coffee grinds don't rinse out

I bought a Maytag dishwasher and I use a coffee press.  If I don't rinse the grinds out of the cups prior to placing in the dishwasher, the grinds end up on many different containers.  Forcing me to rinse and dry suppossedly clean dishes before putting them away. Will rinse aid help?  Any other ideas or dishwasher settings that may alleviate the problem?Buy a Bosch is not an answer...

coffee grounds

webmaster, you are asking your average dishwasher to do something that may be beyond its capabilities.  Even by going with an Asko or Miele or a German-built Bosch, which are the best dishwashers available, your coffee grounds are of an extremely fine nature and are probably going to pass through most filtration systems. Now if you are saying that this is a new problem with the same dishwasher, the Jackson TN built Maytag dishwashers were slightly notorious for having a torn filter, resulting in such a problem.  Their filtration system is very good until these tears happened in the micro-fine filter.  But if the coffee press is a new addition to the existing dishwasher, then the coffee grounds may be finer than the filtration system can screen. If you can provide more details based on my statements above, we could address the matter with more detail.

coffee press grinds are the coarse

when you use a coffee press you put your coffee grinder or have your coffee shop use the coarsest setting.  I think the first explaination makes more sense?

better yet

stop being such a coffee snob and use a coffee machine and join the 21st century.

bah coffee is better from a press

go back to your mr. coffee and brew another cup of Foldgers.   Its an american tradition.

I drink Maxwell house

Keeps the costs down.

your using a coffee press right?

if yes, your cups are going to have grounds at the bottom.  You should rinse the cups before putting them in the dishwasher.  The grounds are not going to break down, therefore they are going to be all over the place.

While ...

... I've never understood having to rinse off plates, etc. before placing them in the dishwasher, it seems to me that you are predestining yourself for problems by knowingly leaving foodstuffs in/on your items to be washed ...

While I'm certainly curious why you would serve someone coffee with grinds in it, I have to wonder if you would leave mashed potatoes, cous-cous, risotto, or  BBQ beans on your plates and deposit them in the dishwasher ... asking it to handle them ???

That's not meant to be snippy ... just realistic !!!
