BSH Cancels Doolittle Distribution
Submitted by advisor on Sat, 09/01/2007 - 1:10am.
Effective December 3, BSH will directly distribute Thermador, Bosch and Gaggenau in Nebraska, Iowa, Montana, Kansas, Oklahoma, and part of Arkansas. Another move in BSH's obvious takeover of all North American distribution.
- Was the timing of the change retribution for Jack Doolittle's purchase of Viking distributor Showcase Distribution (see Ducking and Weaving Aug 2007)
- Decision based on anger, therefore BSH scrambling and not likely ready come December. Doolittle/Showcase to eat BSH's lunch.
- Was the timing of the change a manifestation of BSH's maternal instincts? Choosing the chick to be chucked from the nest most ready to be chucked?
- Seems out of character.
- Was the timing coincidental.
- Part of a deeply analyzed and long thought out strategy, a grand plan created in Powerpoint and EXCEL with forecasts of annual 15% sales growth out to 2015. Shiny pages spiral bound with a clear plastic cover.
The only BSH distributors left are: Echelon, Radio, Purcell Murray and Servco.
BSH was the majority of Doolittle sales, but they still have: Bertazzoni, Speed Queen, Franke, Zephyr, U-Line, Blanco and a few others.
Doolittle Distribution could not be reached for comment.
