Electrolux just sent a notice of an immediate price increase on bottom freezer fridges per U.S. Government tariff. I assume the other brands that import these bottom freezer fridges will follow suit.
Whirlpool gets a reality check
Whirlpool gets a dose of reality from Uncle Sam...for now anyway. The ITC found by unanimous decision (5-0 vote) that sales have not been hurt by import of bottom freezers. It is a shame that they felt the need to screw over their dealers by not protecting them somewhat, and then they tried to screw America with this anti-dumping suit. Thank you Whirlpool for wasting so many taxpayer dollars. http://www.twice.com/article/483449-No_Import_Duties_For_Foreign_Fridges...
Exactly !!!
If you want to compete, you need to be competitive !!!
The problem is that everyone wants a scapegoat, and W/P is no different !!!
The way to compete against such competition is to make a better quality product ... AND ... teach everyone involved in sales how to market and sell them !!!
Thanks for the report, Mate !!! It's not something that would cross the daily information radar of many ...
Whirlpool guilty of dumping their own product
Wow...Whirlpool spearheads an anti-dumping suit against anything not built in the USA, causing almost the entire bottom mount market to go up in price. But then they stick it to their independent dealers with the release of a 25cf double drawer french door, available only to Lowe's for the entire 4th quarter, and selling it to Lowe's at a cost that is letting them retail it for $1299, which is FAR below the cost of the unit on the price sheet. In addition, it is below MAP pricing. Check their current weekly ad, page 9. Sounds like Whirlpool is dumping their own price and screwing their other dealers through Lowe's.
Low balling at Lowe's
Whirlpool must have a tinge of conscience on this one as they are passing around a letter from Big Sam decrying the below MAP price. One has to wonder what Whirlpool sold them to Lowe's for? Our industry continues to commit collective suicide by these type of actions. How does Whirlpool benefit from doing this? I doubt they made any money on the refrigerators, Lowe's probably didn't either and they rest of us get screwed in the deal.
margin
first hand knowledge the margin on one of the sale items it get this a BIG HUGE TAKE A DEEP BREATHE READY -.10%. Now I will ask the CEO of Lowe's how do you plan on possibly making any money on this sale.
