Bosch About to Rock the world with New Dishwashers
Submitted by Mr.Fact on Sat, 04/04/2009 - 12:21pm.
Word is spreading out Bosch will Innovate Again for 2009 with new models of dishwashers. The word is efficiency, silence, and less kWh. Some manufactures think there green well they better get back to there drawing boards. How about 2 Gallons of water for a Normal wash and a design that will basically be amazing. Consumers buy dishwashers and think there efficient well they should read the instruction manuals before buying! And that's a Fact!!!!!

Really if they are making
Really if they are making new dish washers then it should be highly efficient and less water consuming. Bosch is a trusted name so I do not think they will goof up after making such an announcement. Also you have rightly said that consumers think that dishwashers are efficient but never bother to read the manual and confirm what is being said.

Frigidaire
Good to know that Bosch has a new line of dishwashers. However, I have been using my Frigidaire dishwasher for years and Frigidaire Parts are relatively easy to come by.
Sears changes of Manufacturer in Washer/Dryers
Sears has changed of manufacturer for there Front Loading Washers & Dryers they are now built by Samsung. This is a second “BAD” Hit for Whirlpool after having record negative sales and loosing this long time association with Sears. Guess that this second quarter will not be very positive for this big Brand. What Next!!!! For 2009 Santa filing for chapter 13???
To correct Mr. Fact
First I would like to correct Mr. Fact, Sears has changed their manufacture of Front Loaders to LG (the inferior of the two Korean companies in my opinion). In regards to Whirlpool, losing their FL contract for Kenmore eliminates roughly 3% of their total market share which hovers around 50% across all categories inNorth America . As an investor this worries me very little. Their balance sheets look good and their structure is sound (To inform Mr. Fact Whirlpool has posted a profit each quarter though this recession and doesn’t look to be in any trouble). Whirlpool will continue to make Kenmore products for Sears…so to state that they are “loosing this long time association with Sears” is just not correct. If you’ve forgotten, Sears also carries Whirlpool’s branded products. You act as if they don’t sell a single piece of their appliance catalog.
As for my thoughts on Bosch dishwashers, I think they are great products and look forward to seeing their new innovations. The one (and arguably ONLY) thing Bosch does well is dishwashers. However, the quietness race is getting to the point where it makes no difference. I believe they are introducing a dishwasher with 40 dBAs. KitchenAid already has a 41 dBA, Jenn-air has a 42 dBA, ASKO & Miele both have dishwashers in the lower 40’s so it’s getting to the point where Bosch is going to have to focus on something else and it appears to be energy efficiency. This worries me because Bosch does not perform that well in regards to clean ability according to AHAM and using less water (around two gallons) I’m skeptical if this will get it done. I afraid they are banking on the fact that consumers still pre-rinse their dishes which can waist several gallons just in itself. To end, I’m curious but cautious.
(PS: when buying a Bosch their stated energy use is when their in-line water heater is turned to its lowest setting which it always is when delivered. If you truly want the hi-temps promised you have to have the installers or a licensed technician turn up the setting on the in-line heater which in turn changes its energy consumption….read the use and care guide).
Whirlpool.
That is too bad. They have made good products for Sears over the years. Then again do the buyers at Sears care ? My entire family back east bought Sears or Kenmore products for years.
Fisher Paykel to be sold ???
Have you heard? What is the story about FP can anyone shed a light on who or what. The word AGA comes up but can this be…Rumors that FP will have front Loading for fall can anyone confirm or is this just speculations??
Speculation
This appears to be speculation at this point. High level confirmation would say they are not for sale at this time. However, no one will really announce anything until ready. I just don't see the value and the seller probably expects more than they can receive. They are a highly capitalized manufacturer with lots of toys but I don't see a high value for the product line or good will of the company.Consequently unless they want to give it away,it won't happen.
new Bosch D/W
Well i guess with less Water they will not smell anymore, how about working on them so they don't fall apart in 6 months...
DISH
Yea 2 gallons, of H20, no wonder they dont clean, The new ascenta line has had nothing but issues. The dish might only use two gallongs but you have to use 10G to prewash them.
fall apart?
I have had my bosch for 10yrs or so....Still going strong....well except for the plastic console.....but 10yrs ago, it matched my plastic chipping bezel on my Dacor too...(everyone had a plastic issue 10yrs ago....)
Sam the Man
Dacor bezels for their wall ovens were made of high quality Lexan material. The stuff that CD's are made from. It was expensive and you could have gotten a replacement. What product did you have ? Not many problems as I can recall.
all gas range
RSG30Rthe bezels chipped and cracked...known problem...we had plently of customers who got new bezels at the time. It was changed out for a wolf...which has been changed out for a new Dacor
OK.
Different design from the wall oven. Not Lexan material. This was a problem. Not well planned out. A color blended in bezel . I agree it was a known problem. I would not personally buy the all gas range. My opinion of course. A low end gas range is better. The high end attempts to do too much to justify the cost.
all gas
Unfortunately we were stuck with all gas.I agree on the not worth the cost on all gas. We looked at lower end...but needed something that at least looked like it matched what was already here....and came across this Dacor...and what we paid was less then a lesser brand that would match what was here (basically we needed the grates to look the part....)We are trying to finish the kitchen so we can sell...hence the need to match.
Gotcha.
The problem with the Dacor unit was attempting to make it self clean with reverse air flow. Didn't work well.
Press Secretary of Bosch
Most dishwashers do not smell. Maybe it is your water in the bowels of Louisiana !! Most don't fall apart. Bosch , Miele ,Kitchen Aid and some GE models do well. I am looking forward to the new Bosch. Technological advances are good for the industry.
About the smell...
Having worked for BSH, the dishwasher smell was a known issue out of the box. It had to do with the rubber gasket material around the door trapping moisture from when the units were run through a test cycle... Some dishwasher were less affected then others and over the years they have made a concerted effort to improve this but there were still some units where you would open the door for the first time and it smelled like something crawled up and died in there.
Thanks.
I thought he was speaking of smells after the wash cycle. My mistake. I did not notice the problem of out of box odors when I worked for Thermador in the 1980's though. My only exposure to dishwasher manufacturing.
Mr. Fact.
Is this a press release ? If so the editor needs a lesson on spelling. If you are an employee of Bosch you are doing them a discredit by announcing this. An efficient ,quiet and less consuming dishwasher ? That is good but should come from Bosch itself. However if true they must prove to some that this information is as accurate as you say. They make a decent dishwasher already. They really are a good company .I am sure a new round of marketing faux paux is about to begin on dishwashers.
