UPDATE: We have been told that the Big News is still coming.......it's just that it isn't today. Big Stories it seem, know they are big stories, and refuse to meet our schedule, or make themselves known so we don't look foolish to our readers. Big Stories care nothing for our need of a big headline or your need for some glamour in a dreary recession. Goings on at Energy Star, or some home developer picking Whirlpool, that's what's happening out there, when what we really want is the 60 car pileup, the launch of a new aircraft carrier, the train wreck, the sinking, the Big Story.
Big Stories follow their own schedule, and we are going to have to follow that schedule too, whatever it is. So when? Before the end of April perhaps, but you never know. We've been wrong in the past. We admit our fallibility. But here, THIS, Big Story, we promise, is out there, in the forest. And we are tracking it.

I will add my two cents too and agree on the LG and Viking marriage. I believe we will be seeing more than just a strategic play for product sharing and building. I think our friends in Mississippi are selling to the Koreans.

.... ridiculous speculation! I would like to see some good 'ol fashion rumor mongering until the official announcement, the more outlandish/unrealistic the better. For the sake of getting the ball rolling:
Whirlpool and LG announce a strategic partnership upon coming to the conclusion that they are more similar than different (in-door icemakers, for crying out loud). An awkward moment at the press conference is caught by an open mic when Whirlpool is overheard whispering "I wish I could quit you".
What do you think, Advisor? Am I close?
