Did you see the report out today on Best Buy's second quarter earnings? Revenue of some 11.34 billion dollars but earnings of only 177 million. So they made exactly 1.56% net profit on sales. So for every $100 they took in, their net was $1.56. They should keep that in mind the next time they take 2% off of an item. This applies to electronics as well as appliances and to Magnolia and Pacific Sales as well.

Regional Chains/National Chains
I probably should have included national chains in my quesion about regional chains. I watched that news come out about Best Buy and again wandered what their strategy will be to turn their big ship around. It reminds me of when HHGregg said their strategy for lower sales was open more stores. Twice magazine reported two articles in the same email last week: 1: Conn's reported a loss in the last fiscal quarter. 2: Conn's looks to expand in new markets.
