Appliances for New Markets

The appliance industry has always been kitchens and laundry.  Are any of our friends using their under utilized machine tools to experiment in new markets?  Any new suppliers building cabinetry, or surgical equipment, or exercise equipment, or garters trying to recapture that mojo?
